Friday 20th June 2025 was literally a ball. 140 people attended the Backup North West Charity Ball at 1877 suite in Bolton Stadium Hotel and raised £10,500 for young people who are homeless in Bolton. The headline entertainment was Bez from the Happy Mondays also known for Celebrity Gogglebox, Masterchef and much more.
He had everyone on their feet, the dance floor was packed and it was a sea of bucket hats and maracas. He gave a rousing DJ set with his son Arlo who had the audience partying until 1am. The events headline sponsor was Product Care Group (PCG) a long term supporter of the charity.
Bez was treated to a personalised pasty from Marie, Chris and Elena Walsh from Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe, an iconic institute of Bolton.
There were also performances from BuskerElla – violinist and singer and local Bolton band Radio Edit.

BACKUP provide multiple services across Bolton to young people aged 16-25 years who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness. Read here about all the supported accommodation which includes emergency housing, temporary accommodation, short and medium stay supported housing. Also the non accommodation based support work that focusses on mental health, employment support and much more.
Young people can live in more than one Backup service as they make progress and develop more independence prior to moving on completely. The different services are designed to meet various levels and ranges of needs.
