21st June 2023 was the annual event for Backup North West. The day we showcase and celebrate everything we have done, still do and plan to do. This year was a positive day with 110 guests hearing from all Backup teams who delivered overviews of their own services in their own unique ways but seemed to have a theme of super heroes and super powers. We watched a film created by Title Productions to highlight some of the impact the overall organisation has and why we do what we do. Young residents and ex residents stood up and spoke about their experiences; Grace, Marcus and Ameena. Ameenas comments broke everyone in the room, there wasn’t a dry eye! “Backup gave me what I’d been searching for, for 22 years of my life……………….”

it was fabulous to welcome the Mayor of Bolton Councillor Mohammed Ayub to witness another spellbinding event.
We also had the privilege of awarding 5 colleagues with the Linda Paxton Award for commitment to Backup; Jennie Hockey, David Schofield, Susan Donnelly, Ann Howarth and Julie Barlow.

BACKUP provide multiple services across Bolton to young people aged 16-25 years who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness. Read here about all the supported accommodation which includes emergency housing, temporary accommodation, short and medium stay supported housing. Also the non accommodation based support work that focusses on mental health, employment support and much more.
Young people can live in more than one Backup service as they make progress and develop more independence prior to moving on completely. The different services are designed to meet various levels and ranges of needs.
