Elise
Her Story
Elise whilst living at the Lucas Project overcame many hurdles after the devastating loss of both her parents who died within 18 months of each…
20 people took part in a charity abseil today for Backup North West; 6 children, 12 adults (including 2 young people currently living in our homeless services). The sun shone over the University of Bolton stadium while they all dropped 60 feet down the east side of the stadium. Participants included Bolton News reporter Alima Nadeem, Rachael Franklin from The People Shed and Louise Morris from Bolton Arena. The whole event was supported by the Backup Coffee Van and the team from Bolton FM.
Between them, these 20 fearless people raised £4,725 for young people aged 16-25 from Bolton experiencing homelessness.
CEO Maura Jackson said “I’m so pleased with the whole event. Everyone who has done it is amazing because I could not do it! We were joined by friends old and new who wanted to help us including 12 year old Milan who also did our charity sleep out last year. He is fantastic and is always willing to help us. Everyone who did it said it was exhilarating! (I’ll just have to take their word for it!)"

Read here about all the supported accommodation which includes emergency housing, temporary accommodation, short and medium stay supported housing. Also the non accommodation based support work that focusses on mental health, employment support and much more.
Young people can live in more than one Backup service as they make progress and develop more independence prior to moving on completely. The different services are designed to meet various levels and ranges of needs.
